We’re so glad you are here! Grace Church is a place where you are invited to connect more fully to Jesus and to others who are growing in faith and service to the community.

Grace Church is home to people of many ages and backgrounds, and we believe there’s a place for you here, too. Simply said, come as you are. Our Sunday morning service begins at 10:15 and ends at 11:30. A blend of traditional and contemporary worship music is followed by encouraging and relevant biblical teaching. Childcare and classes for children through fifth grade are offered during this time. Pastor Greg Barrier looks forward to meeting you when you visit. You will find him and other friendly people in or near the 5:11 Room (adjacent to the lobby) immediately after the service.

Part-time Worship Leader Position

Grace Evangelical Free Church has an immediate opening for a part-time worship leader. Grace Church is located in Newark, Delaware, just 45 minutes from Philadelphia, an hour from Baltimore, and is home to The University of Delaware. The worship leader position requires approximately eight hours of planning and music leading per week. Experience in both classical and contemporary church music is desired. The candidate for this position will lead a blended worship service and will program music that includes voice, piano, organ, and band instruments. Applicants with guitar and lead singing skills are preferred. The ability to work with current Grace Church musicians is required. If interested send a resume and cover letter to jleymd@aol.com.

Fall 2021

Grace Church has returned to full, in person programming. We look forward to seeing you at our Sunday Morning Worship Services, prayer meetings, small groups, and special events. As recommended by state and local health agencies and the leadership of our church, nonvaccinated individuals are encouraged to wear face masks at public gatherings. Zoom options remain in place if you are more comfortable joining us from your home. In any case, let’s catch up soon! We totally agree with these words from scripture. I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord” (Psalm 122).

This fall, Pastor Greg and selected speakers explore topics familiar to the Christian Church-prayer, baptism, and The Lord’s Supper. More than traditional rituals, understanding these foundational matters which Jesus taught to his earliest followers and which are practiced to this day, will connect you more fully to Him and the Christian community.
Please tune in.

Community Garden
The Community Garden found us growing and giving to our neighbors all summer long. Our produce shares were simply a gesture to say that Grace Church is close by to any who need friendship, encouragement, or spiritual direction. We hope to see you at the garden next summer!

Benefit Yard Sale
Thanks to all who participated in the September yard sales to benefit Hope Anew, a mission which supports the spiritual and physical needs of disadvantaged children who live in the poorest districts of Nairobi, Kenya. Nearly $8,000 was raised for the mission.

We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week. These groups provide the perfect space to learn, serve, and form encouraging friendships. We invite you to join a group or two and get connected here at Grace!
