Grace Church is home to people of many ages and backgrounds, and we believe there’s a place for you here, too. Simply said, come as you are. Our Sunday morning service begins at 10:15 and ends at 11:30. A blend of traditional and contemporary worship music is followed by encouraging and relevant biblical teaching. Childcare and classes for children through fifth grade are offered during this time. Pastor Greg Barrier looks forward to meeting you when you visit. You will find him and other friendly people in or near the 5:11 Room (adjacent to the lobby) immediately after the service.

Yard Sale Photo with various sale items

Mark your fall calendar for the return of our huge, yard sales: Saturday, September 11 and Saturday September 25, 8am to 3pm. This year all proceeds will benefit Hope Anew, a mission which supports the spiritual and physical needs of disadvantaged children who live in the poorest districts of Nairobi, Kenya. The Kamau family, former members of Grace Church, head this important work and are currently raising funds to build a rural youth camp for the respite of these children.

Part-time Worship Leader Position

Grace Evangelical Free Church has an immediate opening for a part-time worship leader. Grace Church is located in Newark, Delaware, just 45 minutes from Philadelphia, an hour from Baltimore, and is home to The University of Delaware. The worship leader position requires approximately eight hours of planning and music leading per week. Experience in both classical and contemporary church music is desired. The candidate for this position will lead a blended worship service and will program music that includes voice, piano, organ, and band instruments. Applicants with guitar and lead singing skills are preferred. The ability to work with current Grace Church musicians is required. If interested send a resume and cover letter to jleymd@aol.com.

Grace Church has returned to full, in person programming. We look forward to seeing you at our Sunday Morning Worship Services, prayer meetings, small groups, and special events. As recommended by state and local health agencies and the leadership of our church, nonvaccinated individuals are encouraged to wear face masks at public gatherings. Zoom options remain in place if you are more comfortable joining us from your home. In any case, let’s catch up soon! We totally agree with these words from scripture. I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord” (Psalm 122).

In the long, frightening pandemic days we faced, did it seem like the world was out of control? And how about trying to make sense of the social unrest and uneasy political movements all around us? Right here, let’s insert a big topic—the Sovereignty of God. This means that God is the ruler and is in control of ALL things in our lives and in the world. Nothing escapes his plan and purpose. Nothing ever has. Nothing ever will. Is this true?

In his Sunday messages this summer, Pastor Greg takes us through the biblical story of Daniel, exploring God’s sovereignty and how it relates to personal events, rulers and nations, life and death, evil, our troubles, and in a word—everything.

This series is timely, challenging, and encouraging. Please tune in.
